3. The final rendering is scanned into my desktop and then the coloring is done via Photoshop. Also using Photoshop, I am able to quickly crop and resize pieces for their final format before they are sent off to a print shop.
My Drawing Process
My typical art process is a mix of traditional and digital.
1. I start with a sketch to work out the composition. For my mermaid piece, I opted to use Procreate on my iPad as it was a faster way to move shapes around until I was able to arrange everything to my liking.
2. Armed with a game plan, I'm able to start rendering the line art and this is where the traditional aspect comes in. I use Micron pens and the Pental Pocket Brush on Canson Marker Paper with the aid of straight edges and French curves as needed.
